We were honored to be invited by RTHK to participate in a special interview program, exploring how local innovation and technology can be practically applied through interactive technology to assist Hong Kong’s medical and rehabilitation institutions in assessment and therapy. The program also introduced our award-winning project, GOPod - Cognitive Training System, developed by a local innovation technology team and recipient of the HKICT Gold Award. In addition to explaining the product’s principles, we also shared how our technology will support the development of future big data analysis frameworks for medical and rehabilitation applications.
GOPod is a cognitive training platform specially designed for local elderly homes and rehabilitation centers. Taking into account the daily needs of seniors and rehabilitation users, the system incorporates various elderly-friendly game elements, such as multi-user interaction and wearable sensor bands, allowing participants to train their minds and improve their focus in a relaxed setting. Caregivers and therapists can also flexibly set up training tasks based on each resident’s or user’s abilities and interests. The content is fully localized and easy to use, making it ideal for daily operation in care homes.
Each training session with GOPod automatically records data such as response time and accuracy, making it easy for staff and therapists to understand each participant’s performance. This not only facilitates daily follow-up but also helps create personalized training plans for focus and memory enhancement. As GOPod’s Product Manager Zuno mentioned in the interview, “Throughout the training process, we also collect data on users’ performance.”
GOPod is developed by a local professional team, combining clinical experience with information technology, striving to put innovation into practice and help frontline staff reduce their workload. Overseas companies may not always actively consider therapists’ feedback, but this system is built on local Hong Kong elements and allows therapists to adjust training content themselves—this is what makes GOPod truly user-centric.
Being featured on “HK Advantages” is a strong endorsement of GOPod’s philosophy and effectiveness. We believe that with media coverage and user recommendations, GOPod will become a trusted partner for more care homes and rehabilitation centers, promoting the development of cognitive training, focus training, and memory training for seniors in Hong Kong, while bringing more engaging and beneficial games to the elderly.
